Aegis Ascot

My Grandmother has been in Ageis Ascot Transition care for just over a month. We have gone from been able to communicate daily by phone to when ever the staff can be bothered to answer the phone. When they do answer the phone and I can ‘talk’ to her the line is so bad I can only ever her 1 out of 4 words in every sentence she says. It sounds like the handset is been taken further than the base station will allow OR they don’t bother to charge the handset. This has made things even more problematic in that Aegis Ascot have only recently come out of COVID lockdown. So no visitors were allowed. I understand about visitors however if you can’t see your loved one then make sure your phone is working. For those that say well this would be easily solved by giving my Grandmother a mobile, she is 84 and had a mobile but couldn’t understand it when she was at home and never used it despite multiple attempts at showing her how to use it. It was a simple mobile (not smartphone). So providing her with a mobile in this case wouldn’t resolve the issue.

Years ago, my dear mum was at Aegis Ascot as a Transitional home. One of the carers, Veronica, was complained about by many of the residents, for various reasons....When Veronica and another carer was transferring mum to her bed via a hoist, she swung mum around like a sack of potatoes, the look of terror on mum's face was heart breaking. Complained to the manager about Veronica, for some other infringment, her reply was, Oh

Highly recommended, we can’t fault the care given to our Mother.Nursing staff, OT’s and Physio’s were excellent.

Staff were great nan has had the best care and treatment here!! As far as homes go we were very happy with all the staff and therapists..thank you!!

Dreadful Place I saw people people swaddled to keep them in Bed. I saw beds unmade in the morning that were still unmade in the afternoon. Only constant attendance will keep your loved one safe.

My dad thrived in the short time he has been here. All the staff are absolutely lovely and vary caring towards the residents.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE They treat their patients very poorley. I think they will be shutdown soon, there is no way they can stay open. My grandmothers health drastically declined the moment she went into Agis Ascot and drastically improved the moment she left. They lost my grandmother, left her in the toilet unaided for over an hour and she needs assistance to walk. They would not change her pads they ration them to 3 a day and need them to be fully soaked before they will change them, they have skeleton staff on the weekends, when we complained and said she needs to go to a hospital The manager said I dont care what you do with her" The people in management here should not be working with elderley vulnerable people."
